Antique Doll
Does anyone know the name of this popular antique doll?
It was a skinny doll about 15 inches tall, it had red hair that you could pull and it grew and you turned a crank on her back to pull her hair back in. She had on a red dress and red shoes, i thought her name was chrissy or missy but i dont know? thank you.
Yes that was Crissy by Ideal from the 1970's. There was a whole family of those dolls....Crissy, Velvet, Mia, Kerry, Cinnamon, Baby Crissy. Here is a link to an informational site about those dolls::

I love the look you are doing on this Christening Gown. I make doll clothes and dress antique dolls when I can. The Old World look isn’t easy to accomplish and several don’t appreciate the time involved. You are doing lovely work. Enjoy the process. Chris
Yep, I’m so undecided on which is more terrifying, clowns or antique dolls. Nasty plastic ones are nasty but not particularly creepy (unless they have blinking eyes in which case, buuuu-uuuh). I made my ex put the antique doll in the closet, turned to face the wall and preferably covered up, with the door closed before I’d sleep in there. On the other hand I’ve run screaming down the street from a surprise clown. Really, there should be warnings (and preferably in writing, not pictures) before they’re let out in public.
I think it's cool how you find all these antique dolls. I mean most of them I have never heard of. It's really cool to get to see all the different types through the ages.
