Brandy looks like a p.h.u.k.ing sad-eyed panda with a doll wig slapped on her head. Shameful!

that is very sadistic and pretty scary. i don't really like it. i mean it's all violence and evil and freaky stuff and there's not much of a plot. it's just a violence fest.

AGs are wonderful. I would suggest buying a doll on ebay and then joining a fan community where some of the more avid doll collectors can help you restore/modify the dolls. You may even be able to find a nice knockoff 18in doll and buy a separate doll wig to (fight with) modify.

When I'm out of school and have enough spending money I would love Felicity and Elizabeth. I adore the American Revolution.

(And that was an excellent post about the Depression and the current Recession.)

Kieran: Go back a couple of blog entries for “Baron Destructo's” email address.

The doll, I assume, is supposed to be folk art created by a hand-sewer, either child or adult? We have become far too spoiled by mass-produced toys.

I think it bears a resemblance to an antique Raggedy Ann, myself.

I actually bought Leya from Dream of Doll a few years ago, so I think I can help here. Unfortunately for that doll, her outfit is not available anywhere. It was a custom or something that they no longer have the rights to produce, so unless you can make it yourself, that particular outfit isn't available for purchase. As for her random eyes and random wig, it's just as it sounds. They randomly pick a wig and eyes to go into the doll and ship her with those. You don't have any say in the matter as to what she will come with, although I have heard of some people asking for particular colored eyes in the past. Also, she won't come with her face painted unless you tell them to, so make sure if you want her to have blush/lipstick/eyelashes and such you select that option or she will arrive with a completely blank face.

Stein: I can’t believe (though I should really know better at this point) that a doll wig website exists. Also, doll head sizes!!!!!!!!! So many things I’ve never thought of!

Thanks so much for your interest. The Praire Dawn body is all one piece and I hand drew it. Janice is an enlarged, and altered pattern from “Creative Cloth Doll Making” by Patti Medaris Culea. I altered the legs to be straight and one piece. This book is a great investment for doll makers. There are three doll body patterns that can be mixed and matched. I enlarged the body parts on my home printer until I had the right proportions. I had to do them in sections, and tape them together. Check back in a few days and see my “Buddy” construction worker doll/muppet, that I just completed for a baby shower gift. I welcome all questions, and love to help. Laura

I read the LIW books too, absolutely loved them. I had a cloth doll whom I called Charlotte after Laura's doll.

At about that same age, my younger son liked to play dress up with his sister in feather boas, plastic high heels and lipstick. Now he is grown and is not gay. But so what if he would have been. He had a cloth doll he slept with. He just climbed Mt. Rainier. What a great Mom you are for standing by him.
