   I don't think there's anything wrong with it – just as long as you know when to stop and stuff and that it doesn't take over your life. If you can balance your love of anime/manga and your life outside that, then I see no issue with it.

   I’m ashamed to admit how few Twilight related things I’ve got…besides the Twilight collector DVD I just have other 2 objects and some magazines. Truth is, the crapola is pretty bad quality and expensive! And I know this sounds crazy, but I’ve got on my wish list a Barbie Collector doll of Bella and one of Victoria. I love Barbies and had just one when I was a little girl, which was a cheap copy (growing up in communism where the Barbie doll was seen as a capitalistic bitch), so it’s always stayed with me…maybe if I have kids that will give me an excuse, ha? LOL, I’ll buy those dolls sooner or later, mark my words.

   She’s OK, but I don’t like how she’s so simple. Her face and eyes look more like the Mariposa doll then a collector doll’s. I drew a more fancy dress for a Holiday Barbie. I just really like the collector feel and fancy dresses! That’s just my opinion though, she still pretty.

   without a base/background is my preference because one can always add a background if desired for some special event or showing. One can always change the doll's attire and then add a background, for a showing as desired. One pays for the ready or included background. Why? Limits one's selectionability for just the doll does it not?
   The doll is what is important. Put your $$ into that and not pay for an included background until you need such AND then make it yourself to suit.

   Shane,
   Sure it isn't the end of civilization. But I do believe that Mattel (and other brands) have “sexed-up” their dolls over the years…..
   I am pretty much pleading for an attempt to at least try and keep little girls as innocent as possible for as long as possible.

   In today's market, it seems kids as young as 5 are being inundated with toys that grow them up too quickly….I just get really tired of it.

   As far as the limited edition Black Canary…..I think many comic book characters are not appropriate for young kids….I suppose your point about it being a collector's doll is well-taken, however….

   Hopefully they aren't placing these “collector dolls” on the shelf next to “Wedding Barbie” anytime soon, though.
