   I have that same Little Women book. My mom bought it for me along with the china doll heads of the girls. I've yet to make them. Maybe that will be a project for after furlough.

    Let me take a different angle on this that allows some hope for the future of music and yes, even popular music.

    My half baked theory has the problem starting at the other end. Not that the teeny-boppers are collectively the deep pockets and that the labels are catering to their tastes (and I hope to hell songs about getting head are not being marketed to teeny-boppers anyway), but that the labels are just having a massive dry spell on ideas and talent.

    When nobody "current" has any talent, the labels are not going to just close up shop and send everyone home. They will do anything and everything to convince the most gullible people that "this is the thing to buy". They are not the ones with the most disposable cash, these teeny boppers, but the ones with the largest gap between buying power and brain power. When there is another 1983 (pre-weirdo) Michael Jackson, there will be more 1983 type record sales.

    For those who don't know, Thriller was something around 40 million copies sold in the first year of release! And that dude wrote his own. What flash in the pan that recently rolled off the labels' formula pop assembly line will ever touch that? Nobody. The labels are as unhappy about it as we are, but with no talent available to record, they will continue to upsell s**t to us.

    I wish I had just a tiny bit of musical talent so I could clean up in this dead market. Seems that being a dude who looks like a woman is considered the next best thing.
