   Reborning is the art of transforming a vinyl doll (either whole doll or kit) into a realistic looking baby doll (usually of a human baby- but sometimes elves or chimpanzees may be made). The person who makes this transformation is called a 'reborner” or reborn artist. The more realistic looking the doll is the more successful the artist is considered. Once completed the doll is called a 'reborn', 'reborn doll', 'reborn baby”or 'fake baby'.

   found your blog in the NY Times article, and just wanted to stop by to thank you. i didn't get into the whole gender thing until i took a class on it in college a few years ago, and i have to say– what a silent intruder it is on our lives! we (as a general population) don't even realize how invasive it is in every-day life, and i find myself challenging all of it. we encourage boys to be out and about in the social realm, giving them toy trucks and cars, and showing them in commercials playing with other boys in an outside setting. girls are usually shown by themselves, in a house, with a doll or kitchen set, or seen taking care of someone or making jewelry. SO BAD i want to reach through the screen and say “men can cook too! and women can play with dinosaurs! just let them be who they want to be!!” but i digress. keep up the good words and the positive attitude you keep towards gender diversity. we'll make it.. some day.

   Hello Dianne,
   I have been following your blog and just love it.
   It makes me what to start one up as well…maybe some day. I have made your banana bread and it was a big hit with the family. Everyone just love it so I gave everyone your website address. I can't wait to try your lemon tea bread.
   Congratulations on your first year!!! I sure hope you are planning on doing this for a long time and share many more photo's and recipes with us all.

   Just a doll will do, that is a boy doll, or a kitchen set – boys like playing with them too, I know mine did for short periods. The best thing is a dad who is a good father.

    When She had her old wig on she looked like she was 11. When She had the new wig on she looked 10. For what the book says I mean. Other wise the new wig makes her look brand new!

    This sounds like fun, and I do love to stuff little bits in the girls stockings, but I am not a crafty person so I am going to have to think about what I could make that I would be confident enough to send out… what I would want to know is should the items be for adults or for kids or does it matter?See I do stockings for DH and the kids and I have lots of ideas that would work for kids but not so sure they would go over well for the adults…..My thoughts would be Paper Craft Necklaces and Bracelets (or Kits to craft your own with detailed instructions), Salt Dough Ornaments, Photo Pillows (small to hold a wallet sized photo) maybe with herbs, NoteCards with Waxed Leaves (homemade paper on top of it), PaperCraft Ornaments (I have seen some lovely detailed ones that I wouldn’t mind trying my hand at), Clothes Pin Doll Kits, see and I could just keep going. Would love feed back.I can’t read your button right now, but I am going to try to copy it and add it to my Blog so others who want can join in.
