Which Brush is Better for Kaya the American Girl Doll?

Doll Hairbrush
Item# F9024

This wire wig brush can comb through tangles for lustrous, beautiful doll hair

OR

Sparkly Hair Pick
Item# F6213
This purple pick with metal tines is perfect for styling curly 'dos on American Girl dolls. The curvy handle is easy to hold, and its sparkly finish is fun! W: 2 3/4" x H: 2 1/4"

Use the doll hair pick to style the hair of these dolls: Addy and Just Like You dolls F8860, F8900, F8910, and Nicki, Girl of the Year 2007
i took out the braids and its all messy p.s. its very rough hair

The pick is more for curls. And since Kaya has straight hair, I never use a pick on her hair! Do use the brush on Kaya's hair.

I actually bought Leya from Dream of Doll a few years ago, so I think I can help here. Unfortunately for that doll, her outfit is not available anywhere. It was a custom or something that they no longer have the rights to produce, so unless you can make it yourself, that particular outfit isn't available for purchase. As for her random eyes and random wig, it's just as it sounds. They randomly pick a wig and eyes to go into the doll and ship her with those. You don't have any say in the matter as to what she will come with, although I have heard of some people asking for particular colored eyes in the past. Also, she won't come with her face painted unless you tell them to, so make sure if you want her to have blush/lipstick/eyelashes and such you select that option or she will arrive with a completely blank face.

RT Bought a blow-up doll today. Gave her a light-saber and a wig. My little Mannequin Skywalker. Told her I was her father – Didn't bat an eye!

Try shampooing her hair with mild unscented baby shampoo, and make sure her eyes don't get wet.
Condition the bottom half of her hair with unscented conditioner. And from now on try to be careful about her wig, so that it doesn't loosen more.

To clean some marks off of her limbs, rub baking soda on her skin and rub it with a damp towel. It works tremendously. If there are marks on her face, wash carefully, and away from her eyes.
For her torso, you could try a bleach pen where you drew the bellybutton. My sisters and I did the same thing on our Molly doll, but THANKFULLY it was in pencil!!

I suggest that you buy a doll/wig brush off of Ebay, or ask on Freecycle if anyone has one.
When you brush her hair, make sure you brush the tips of the hair first, then go up.

I have an old Kirsten that's about ten years old, and her hair is really frizzy and unshiny. I can't fix her hair anymore, because it's already so messed up.
If your doll's hair gets worse and gets looser, you should send her to the American Girl Doll Hospital.
They can give her a new head or a new wig. They may even be able to clean the bellybutton stain. :)
It may cost you some money, but your doll will look alot better, and she will come home in a hospital gown and a get well balloon.

Good luck on cleaning your doll! I hope this helps you and Bella! :)

Try the site "Just Magic". The woman at this site has a lot of information on what to do to fix up your doll. Sounds as if your Girl needs a new wig. ( and the right brush – I bought mine for $7.00 at a wig store) mke sure it is a good quality wig or you won't like it.

  14. same, my mother had to use a wig brush on my long, thick hair. Maybe that’s the reason I cut it all off as I got older
