Can a ball jointed doll's wig be dyed if it's not made out of mohair?

I'm not really fond of the mohair wig for ball jointed dolls cause of the frizzy look they have. I have been searching for an answer to my question but all I get is tips on dying a mohair wig. I want to know if it's possible to dye a ball jointed doll wig that is not made out of mohair. And if so what should I use, and how do I do it?

all – lest i give you the impression that i crafted this thing from three pieces of felt and a shoestring -

    a) it's not nearly as hard as it looks

    and

    b) i am the queen of outsourcing. long live google!!

i bought the muslin doll body at our local craft store. yes, they sell doll bodies – you do not have to design them, sew them or even stuff them. all pre-done.

the hair was a struggle – a blond afro doll wig is a tough call, but google didn't let me down.

then came the clothes. i knew i was over my skis with the clothes. creating tiny little doll shirts and pants is way, way beyond my skill level. and so, i googled. and googled and googled and googled. and i found my angel.

kris was a godsend. i told her my story – odd as it was – and pled for her help. she graciously let me bombard her with photos (and even videos) from the movie and she (seemingly) never lost patience with me. i'm fairly certain this is not her typical job and i was definitely not her typical customer.

i was really, really, really impressed by her work. it was quick, incredibly well done and VERY fairly priced. i will be forever in her debt.

so if you ever need any custom doll clothes, PLEASE drop her a line and tell her the crazy godspell lady sent you. :)

I actually bought Leya from Dream of Doll a few years ago, so I think I can help here. Unfortunately for that doll, her outfit is not available anywhere. It was a custom or something that they no longer have the rights to produce, so unless you can make it yourself, that particular outfit isn't available for purchase. As for her random eyes and random wig, it's just as it sounds. They randomly pick a wig and eyes to go into the doll and ship her with those. You don't have any say in the matter as to what she will come with, although I have heard of some people asking for particular colored eyes in the past. Also, she won't come with her face painted unless you tell them to, so make sure if you want her to have blush/lipstick/eyelashes and such you select that option or she will arrive with a completely blank face.

Well THIS Fuzzy has hair and puts the Fuzzy Wuzzy poem out of commission. What a fuzzy, wuzzy boy! Is that a doll wig? What a good sport Fuzzy is!
