   Great post Aaron.

   I agree with Clark concerning the fact that these guys seem to be ministering to a virtually untouched audience. However, I have a few problems with how these guys go about their ministry. For starters, I believe that they are deliberately using controversial methods in order to garner attention from the people they are trying to reach. While there's nothing wrong with being creative in grabbing the attention of others, I think that extreme nature of some of these methods (“Jesus Porn Stars” in vintage '70s kitsch) do more harm than good and actually covolute the message that they are trying to communicate.

   But my biggest concern is the blatant irreverence shown by the products and methods these guys use. While Jesus was (and is) a friend to sinners, we should never cheapen the Lord of Glory with vulgar and casual treatment (like Jesus action figures and bobble head dolls). I think that our Savior and the King of Creation deserves a bit more respect than that.

   Yet I'm quite sure that, as these guys mature in their ministry, their methods will mature as well (at least I hope so!).

   It may be warranted, and it may not. As we said, the man hasn't even been sworn into office, but elementary schools are already being renamed in his honor?

   How about waiting 'til he gets in office before deciding the cultish worship is appropriate?

   I don't know where you are Joe, but if you had ever been to downtown NYC, esp. Union Square, since this past summer, you'd have seen all sorts of bizarre shrines set up to him, from t-shirts with images of him with halos surrounding his head to dolls and all sorts of things that could stock a stalker's bedroom. Truly bizarre.

   Hey Nuntn, thx for doing this vid. It's super important. Was just at an edged weapons training course at Front Sight in Nevada and came across a very cool guy from Chicago that I sensed was a sheepdog type and introduced myself. Within the first 2 minutes of talking to him, he ID'd himself as a “sheepdog”. Self defense training is impt, but there's a small % of us that are sheep dogs and I think most of us realize it. It's a calling in MHO. You're one too. DeltaGolf67 vegas

   It is still copyright infringment. I know you’re attempting to distinguish that away, and look to the attribution of unwanted editoral, uh, “help”. But there is no legal mechanism for that.

    Read your comment on This Young House's latest giveaway, and wanted to say I SO agree: home furnishings are almost never what you want if you haven't asked for them! Like my MIL getting me useless country-looking knick-knacks, like a Boyd's Bear that says “Home is where your teddy bear is.” Uh, no. Those gourd-head dolls sound pretty weird!!

    Of course I made the mistake of telling MIL that I had one other boyd's bear someone had gotten me when I graduated High School, and she said “Oh that's nice, you can start a collection!” Luckily it's been a year and I haven't had any other boyd's bear gifts. *whew*

    Holy Necromicon: I think that “When Bruce Met Sam” clip is from the performance I attended: November 2, 2006. I didn't realize it was that long ago…

    This is direct from my journal about the experience:

    “Bruce Campbell made me whip my head back and forth like a bobble (head) doll.”

    It's tough being short in theater seats, even when it's BC in front of you.
