Antique O'Keefe & Merritt stove - oven not working after turning gas off and then on again?
I have an antique O'Keefe & Merritt stove, from approx. 1950, model # 420-4 (oven and 4 burners). A plumber was here last week and had to turn off my gas. We re-lit the pilot lights (2 for the stove-top and one for the oven) and the stovetop burners work fine, but the oven will not come on - when you turn the dial for the oven, you can not hear any gas coming through as you used to. Am I missing a pilot light, or could there be an issue with the safety switch? (I have pressed the safety switch in the oven to no avail.) Any tinkerers out there?
You may need to purge the trapped air in the line to the oven. Also check oven thermostat.
