Hmm interesting – most little girls would be in the kitchen cooking etc (I know its a standardisation) or playing mummy in someway – playing house usually reflects what children of that age experience in a house. Maybe she has seen mum and dad have a bath together.

AGs are wonderful. I would suggest buying a doll on ebay and then joining a fan community where some of the more avid doll collectors can help you restore/modify the dolls. You may even be able to find a nice knockoff 18in doll and buy a separate doll wig to (fight with) modify.
When I'm out of school and have enough spending money I would love Felicity and Elizabeth. I adore the American Revolution.

Okay, I'm a protestant so some of the particular things I might say about Catholicism may not be germane to this answer.
But as a father and husband, my REAL answer is that you need to stand up for yourself as a daughter-in-law and STOP following your MIL's wishes without objection.
You are your daughter's mother…not your MIL. Whatever she things is the 'right' thing to do is great…but you're NOT bound by it. You don't mention your husband in this at all…should I presume he is either not in the picture, or is passive with regard to standing up for you?
"For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife". In a healthy marriage, there is a real and actual SEPARATION between households to allow the new marriage to build a real unity and foundation without the distraction and influence of the parents.
From what I understand of your post, this is the real root of the problem, not the incidental syndromes of religious practice that your're describing above.

Oh. I’ve love to see this exhibition. As someone who has recently been working on miniature doll clothes, I’d love to get a look at his creations and how he copues with textile scale and notions for his pieces.
A company called Groupon was just sold to google for 6 Billion dollars. The guy who started it like to build miniature doll houses. WTF!
I actually bought Leya from Dream of Doll a few years ago, so I think I can help here. Unfortunately for that doll, her outfit is not available anywhere. It was a custom or something that they no longer have the rights to produce, so unless you can make it yourself, that particular outfit isn't available for purchase. As for her random eyes and random wig, it's just as it sounds. They randomly pick a wig and eyes to go into the doll and ship her with those. You don't have any say in the matter as to what she will come with, although I have heard of some people asking for particular colored eyes in the past. Also, she won't come with her face painted unless you tell them to, so make sure if you want her to have blush/lipstick/eyelashes and such you select that option or she will arrive with a completely blank face.
I think that tiny, cunning little hamster hands just inevitably make people think of playing with dollhouses and miniatures, so they start thinking about preparing miniature doll food to go along with their fun.
