Painted Porcelain
Help with Hand Painted Porcelain Figurines?
I recently purchased some blank porcelain figurines, and have painted a few already. However, they have a very soft finish....they look wonderful, but lacking true eye appeal.
My question is, how can I give them the more eye-catching traditional glossy finish? The paint I am using is regular Acrylic paints.

Try this website, http://www.liquitex.com/default2.cfm They create acrylic artists paints along with a lot of sealer, gesso's and gel mediums (and great advice about what to use when.) You'll find them in the paint section of craft stores like Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Joanns and art stores.

What kind of paint can I use to paint on tile/porcelain surfaces?
there is a tile paint on the market called Thompson's tile paint which has a primer in it so you only have to give your tiles 1 coat .when you paint them use a small roller cause it will give you a smooth finish.the paint come in a large range of colours and you can get it from any large diy store. happy painting

My grandmother put her eye out. She was a very petite woman, 4’10 on a good day. She put her left eye out with the car door, calmly walked back in the house. It was hanging against her cheekbone near the bridge of her nose. She cleaned up the blood a bit, held it against her face with some kleenex and *then* called 911. The took her to the nearest hospital which wasn’t capable of assisting with such injuries and put her back into the ambulance without having given her any pain meds and transported her about 20 miles away. She eventually had it replaced with a hand painted porcelain eye. She and I had always been close. I was out of town at the time, in Israel. I was plagued by bad dreams of various animals in realistic circumstances putting an eye out. It was so horrific I couldn’t sleep. I remember going out and walking the beach at 3am, trying to figure out what these dreams meant. They were so horrible. I kept trying to reach her by phone and it would ring & ring. After 2 weeks I jumped on a plane and arrived at her place just after she returned home from the hospital. I miss her so much.
