Porcelain Doll Paint
has anyone heard of a porcelain doll that only has the word "SAGA' on it's neck?

she is all porcelain, has blue painted eys and lashes, freckles. She is jointed at the shoulders and legs and is 13 1/2" tall.

I'm not finding anything with that mark on Google or ebay, it could be the work of an amateur doll artist and those are his or her's intitials or last name. Or it could be from a lesser known company. You can try asking here, someone might know ......

Creating a Porcelain Doll : Painting Porcelain Doll Hands

I have an all porcelain doll i am trying to figure out who made it and how much it is worth.?

It has hand sewn clothes and a painted face. The clothes look very old. How would I go about finding who made it and the value of this doll. I cannot see any markings on the body and I am afraid to look to closely as the doll seems fragile.

My wife made porcelain doll and she always put her name and date at the base of the head in the back. Look under the hair.

How true your article is! For 10 years I taught antique porcelain doll painting. What started as a hobby became a full time business. Much like you mentioned, I had little time to paint for myself, too much else to do to run a business, travel weekends to teach seminars, doing trade shows etc. I very much enjoyed doing it, but the economy affects the craft business, so now I am back to the “other” real world of work. I now have photography as a hobby, taking college courses and hope to take your Boot Camp,,,but this time I will keep it a hobby and enjoy the fun part of shooting and learning!
