How do I fix the hair on my dolls?

I started collecting porcelain dolls when I was a girl. I recently took them out of storage and some of them are having a bad hair day. Is there anyway I can fix their hair? Is there anyway I can prevent this from happening with my newer dolls?

It is very hard to fix the hair on dolls because you risk doing even more damage to it. Here is what I have done to my dolls:

If the hair is curly:

I would recommend you twirling the hair around your finger and holding it for a few minutes. If it still doesn't work, you can attempt to use curlers or a curling iron on it. Please note you should only use the curling iron on it for a few seconds because it will start to burn the hair if used any longer.

If the hair is straight;

I would recommend you first try using your finger to fix the stray hairs. If the hair is in worse condition, you can lightly use a soft brush or even a barbie brush to fix it.

Whatever you do, do NOT ever spray anything on the hair or shampoo the hair. This really damages the doll's hair.

Placing a hairnet over the hair is really the only way to keep the doll from having a bad hair day.
