Can someone help me with this Maths Puzzle?
So here's the puzzle:
A man wanted to marry the daughter of a King. The King decided to test the man by giving him two empty, porcelain vases, 100 white pearls and 100 black pearls. "You must put all the pearls in the vases", said the King. "I will call my daughter and ask her to select one pearl from one of the vases at random. If the pearl is black, you may marry." How should the man arrange the pearls in the vases to have the best chance of marrying the King's daughter?
Thanks in advance!
I like Gary's answer but as it is a maths puzzle I suspect the answer is to put all the pearls except one black one in one vase and one black one in the other vase. Then he has a 50/50 chance of picking the black vase and if he chooses the other vase a 50/50 chance of getting a black pearl, which gives him a 3 to 1 chance of getting a black pearl

And then post them at this Asian Art forum. There seem to be be collectors there, and hopefully they can tell you more.
What you really need to do is to get it valued by a real expert, in real life. People can't judge over the internet, they need to feel weight, touch the glaze etc. At a 600 dollar layout you need to have it properly appraised.
“the only thing I really enjoyed was confession.” I'll bet the priest enjoyed it too. He is probably writing a novel based on your life. A real pot-boiler.
By the way, I was in a museum in Europe somewhere and saw what I thought were porcelain vases, nicely decorated. it turned out they were for ladies to pee in while in church – a few hundred years ago the service would go on for hours and they could hide a “vase” under their voluminous skirts while sitting in the pew.
meanwhile, if you're bored try counting how many angels can dance on your head.

Very true.
Try posting at asianart.com forum, they probably would be able to provide some good help.

China Unique Familie Verte Porcelain Vase
put 50 white in each vase then add the black to each to be on top
or put 100 white in one vase then add all but one black to the vase with the white then put the one black left in the other vase
