How to create a vampire/victorian-inspired look?
Hi everyone!
I'm working on a Victorian-inspired wardrobe and I need your help.
I want something reminiscent of 19th Century aristocracy, porcelain dolls, vampires and yet sophisticated and cool.
I don't really like the typical goth artifacts, such as fishnets and/or puffy dresses that make my hips look twice the size. Nor do I want a lot of black.
What would you recomend in terms of clothes and make-up?
P.S. Really, no goth stuff, no extreme black, eyeliner, extreme looks or clothes, huge shoes, odd stuff... I want something quite simple and discreet, in fact.
It's hard to be discreet when you're after a vampire/victorian inspired look.
Of course, there is a more corporate look when it comes to simplified victorian. Little white blouses with a high waisted black skirt, a necktie and tuxedo shoes with black stockings works fine.
But if you're after more;
Corsets are always a good start.
Colours that are good; deep red, black, beige (bone), pearl, deep purple (too bright and it looks tacky),

Lots of little frills and lace and ribbon.

Victorian style has a lot of shape.
As for makeup, nice white skin, complimentary eyshadow (lightly applied) with eyeliner and mascara.
