Porcelain Half
I have recently unearthed a half porcelain doll my grandmother gave me...?
Half porcelain= face, hands, feet are porcelian
So anyway, its hands and face are dirty. and i dont mean dusty. How do i clean them without removing the paint?
Also are there any websites that sell 18th century dresses for the doll....I seem to have lost her dress.
Use mild dish detergent, water and some cotton swabs. While it will take some time, you will not remove the paint.

What is a good straightening iron to buy?
I need a porcelain or ceramic(or any material that is less damaging than metal) straightening iron for under $50. I need one that will LAST, because this is my 5th flat iron in 2 and half years because they keep going dead. I use a straightening iron on every day of the week except for the weekends.
Any good flat irons or suggestions on how to prevent flat irons from going dead?
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.
In terms of performance:
The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands
Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,
Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss
Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.
=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======
Q: What size should I choose?
A: For most people, 1", 1-1/4" or 1.5" are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5" or 2") will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1" or 3/4").
Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?
A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

I just don't understand why “independent” women would need chivalry? If we are all equal, why do women need to be a protected class, with the same rights as men, yet they expect to still be treated as fragile porcelain dolls. If anyone can offer compelling arguments to support this premise, i would be open to it. but as yet, I have not heard any reason to believe chivalry shouldn't be dead. Can anyone show me without appealing to emotion, or begging the question? If not, this thread is null and void!
I loved your recap of the flea market. I rarely buy anything, but I enjoy looking through all the old stuff on the antique/flea markets – and every now and then, you may find some rare treasure there, too. If I have the time when traveling, I also like to visit the local flea markets – both to people watch, and to browse through all the peculiar things on display.
Strangely enough, I also think there's something creepy about the dull faces of the old porcelain dolls. I assume that's why I was (am?) more of a teddy bear person (though my friend thinks antique teddy bears with missing ears or shoe button eyes are just as creepy).

I dunno–demonic dolls scare the bejeezies out of me. Especially porcelain dolls and baby dolls. The creepy little dolly enforcer in Toy Story 3 was the most frightening thing in the movie.
