My son broke a friend's daughter's porcelain doll that had sentimental value.?
My son broke a friend's daughter's porcelain doll that had sentimental value (it was from her grandmother.) My son is too young to work to pay it off (he's 3) and I feel terrible. He was misbehaving, but the reason the doll got broken was an honest mistake.. he didn't know that it was in the baby carriage he was playing with.
What should I do? I want to give her the money to replace it or something, but I know it won't be the same. I feel horrible.
Well theres two options, do you want to hear something to make yourself feel better or do you want to hear the truth. Heres my answer for both options:
To make yourself feel better:
Dont worry just pay it off although it wont be the same. your son broke it but it was an accident so dont worry!
Truth:
Im sorry but what i just said was a half a lie. The truth is that even though it was an accident, you cant replace a porcelan doll that had sentimental value.Your son already broke it and he cant do anything about it anymore. You can pay it off but that wont help a lot. But they cant stay mad at him because it was an accident. Just do your best. At least you tried. Dont feel too bad about it because its already done. Dont wory ok? Just try to do your best and hopefully it will workout
