Making Doll Wigs Tutorial

I'm looking for a tutorial on how to wig a male doll...?
Hi!
I just got into making dolls and puppets recently. I've been hunting for a tutorial on how to create a realistic, contemporary (short) hairstyle for a male doll I'm making, but thus far have only found tutorials for female hairstyles or male dolls with loooong hair, which is of course not what I want.
If someone can reccomend a site or book that they KNOW has such a tutorial, or a link directly to said how-to, it would be much appreciated
(as would any direct advice from someone who has done this or knows what they are doing)
Thanks!
You might want to check out some of the links I have at my site for adding hair to figures... some of them deal with making wigs of various types, some deal with poking bits of hair directly into heads, and vairous other things. At least it would be a place to start:
http://glassattic.com/polymer/sculpting_body_and_tools.htm
...click on the HAIR category--then scroll down to the subcategory called "Hair on Baked Clay Heads" (most of that info would apply to non-polymer-clay heads as well)
You could also try to find some of the online groups re making figures or dolls or puppets (at yahoogroups, delphiforums, or googlegroups, e.g.), then ask for their expertise or for links about hair, etc.
Good luck!
Diane B.

First Lace Front Wig and Seductive Green Makeup Tutorial
Anyone know about reborning dolls?
I asked this once earlier, but only got one answer... Over the past couple months I have become increasingly interested in roborn dolls, and learning to make them myself. I've found a couple tutorials online, but I would love to know how other artists do it. I admit, I'm slightly confused by the purple wash thing. Do I dye it? Or paint it, and if I paint it do I paint inside or out? Which method works better? If you have any examples of your work, so I can see how the techniques differ, I'd really appreciate it. Please email me, The link thing is in my profile. I'm hoping to avoid the 'dead/bruised' baby look. Also, I like the idea of rooting the hair as opposed to a wig, but I hate the look of mohair. It looks frizzy and just plain odd, in my opinion. Is there some rule about not using human hair? Or is it more a cost thing ?(having gone to cosmetology school I know how pricey a human hair track can be) Any info or tips would be much appreciated! Thanks to all the genuine answers. ![]()
