chrome refinishing on antique stove?
I have a 35 year old Okeefe & Merritt stove. I saw how much they cost restored and I want to restore the chrome finishing on the burner pans (high heat area) and the knob strip, side strips & rear trim areas as well.
The new finish has to withstand high heat, so I ABSOLUTELY don't trust some spray on paint. How else could I do it.
Or--where could I go for someone to refinish this for me well and reasonably priced?
also, the enamel has some rust spots.
I had heard of some product that you just rubbed on and it made those spots diminish in size (visually--underneath the damage was still there)
anyone know of such a prodcut?
do a search for "chrome refinishers" I just check, there are lots of sites, not sure where you are located. or ask a plumber or even a garage mechanic for advice...here is one such link, it is in canada...they are all over the place though http://www.electroshine.com/
